Amongst all the madness, the Coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the human need for physical interaction. The Government has recently announced that those in an established relationship no longer need to socially distance – provided that you do not live in a local lockdown area.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Social distancing and sex are two words which, in 2020, typically do not go hand in hand. However, the Government now states that “people in an established relationship do not need to socially distance.\u201d This applies to couples who do not physically live together. Under these new regulations, couples can legally meet up and have sex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may not be clear exactly what an \u2018established relationship\u2019 constitutes to, but it is assumed that couples will use their common sense to decide whether they fit the bill or not. The Government also states that \u201cif you are in the early stages of a relationship, you should take particular care to follow the guidance on social distancing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rules surrounding Covid-19 differ depending on the area you\nlive in and the prevalence of Coronavirus cases in that area. In \u2018local lockdown\u2019\nareas, mixing with other households in private spaces, such as homes and\ngardens, is forbidden. Therefore, sex is seemingly banned in these areas, for\nnow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, dating in public places is back on the cards\n(but only until 10pm, of course). So, if you\u2019re waiting to take that special\nsomeone out to their favourite restaurant, go ahead! Just don\u2019t forget to wash\nyour hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our advice is to always be vigilant and ensure that you are taking the necessary precautions to minimise the risk of Covid-19 transmission. However, do ensure that you are also taking care of your own needs, too – within reason. This is a very difficult time for many people and having a support network is important \u2013 even if it is at a social distance!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
