What is a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Test?

This is a test that aims to identify why you might be feeling extremely tired and generally unwell. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), is a long-term illness.

How does this test work?

This test requires a blood sample. Your kit will contain everything you need for your sample to be collected by a nurse and sent for analysis to our accredited UK laboratory for testing.

What tests will you run on my sample?

This test can detect the following:

• Epstein-Barr Virus. This test will detect antibodies to the Epstein-Barr Virus which can cause glandular fever.C-reactive protein (CRP). This is a marker of inflammation. This test measures the level of CRP in your blood.
• Vitamin D. Low levels can result in depression, feeling low in energy, and an increase in body aches and pains.
• Lymphocytes. This test tells you how strong your immune system is and helps to predict how likely you are to develop an infection.

When will my test kit arrive?

How will I receive my test results?
