Product Description

Better2Know Covid-19 Quantitative Finger-Prick Antibody Test.

Covid-19 Coronavirus Finger-Prick Antibody Test (CE Marked)

This antibody test measures both IgG and IgM antibodies which are produced in response to natural infection as well as to the Covid-19 vaccines. As this is a quantitative test, it will not only tell you whether you have tested positive or negative but will also provide a numerical value to indicate the level of antibodies in your blood.

The advantage of this test’s quantitative nature is that your results will provide a baseline to monitor your antibody level over time. Since this test looks for the Spike protein, which is the target of many Covid-19 vaccines, it is the ideal antibody test to have following the vaccine. This is also a suitable antibody test if you have not had the vaccine.

This test requires a finger-prick blood sample to be collected at home and sent to our accredited UK laboratory for analysis. This test is CE marked and MHRA approved.

Inside your test kit, you will find:

  • A gold-topped blood collection tube
  • A pack of Lancets to prick your finger
  • Pre-lancet antiseptic wipe and plaster
  • A pathology form
  • A postage-paid envelope to return your sample
  • A full set of instructions.

Once you have taken your sample, please use the postage-paid envelope to send it to our laboratory. You will receive your results within one working day of your sample’s arrival at the laboratory.

How accurate is this antibody test?

This quantitative test has a specificity of 99.98% and a sensitivity of 98.8% at 14 days after the onset of symptoms. This test is also suitable if you have not had symptoms of Covid-19 but are looking to find out whether you have produced antibodies in response to a previous Covid-19 infection, or after having the vaccine.

What should I do when my kit arrives?

Please read the full set of instructions in your kit before collecting your sample. You can then take your blood sample using the lancets provided to prick your finger. Once you have collected your sample, please use the postage-paid return envelope to send it to the laboratory for fast and accurate analysis.

When will I receive my results?

Your results will be ready within one working day of your sample’s arrival at the laboratory. Once your results are ready, we will send you an email to let you know. To access your results, simply log into your online patient area using the log-in details sent to you at the time of booking.

    FAQs

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Testing

Q: What is a quantitative test?

A quantitative antibody test will determine the level of antibodies in your blood. Therefore, by testing again in the future, you can monitor any changes in your antibody level over time.

Q: Can any factors affect the results of this test?

There are various reasons why your result may be negative. This does not mean that the test is inaccurate. There is still much for the medical industry to learn about Covid-19, including how long antibodies remain in the body, what this means for immunity, and why the virus affects individuals differently.
