Female Hormones Screen

What is a Female Hormone Test?

Our Female Hormone Test will establish whether you have a hormone imbalance which could be affecting areas of your health including fertility, mood and menstrual cycle. This test needs a nurse to collect a blood sample.

Why consider a Female Hormone Test?

You may wish to consider this test if you want to check your level of important hormones or:

  • You are experiencing irregular or heavy periods
  • You are experiencing weight gain
  • You are experiencing signs of fatigue and are concerned it may be due to the menopause or a thyroid concern
  • You are planning to get pregnant and want to check that your hormone levels are normal.
  • How does this test work?

This test requires a blood sample. Once you have collected your blood sample, place it in the postage-paid envelope provided and post it to our accredited UK laboratory for analysis.

What tests will you run on my sample?

This test will review the following:

  • Luteinising Hormone (LH). This hormone helps to control the menstrual cycle.
  • Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). This hormone is important for the production of eggs in the ovaries.
  • Prolactin. This hormone plays an important role in reproductive health.
  • 17 beta-oestradiol. This test will measure the amount of the hormone oestradiol (a form of the hormone oestrogen).

When will my test kit arrive?

If you place your order Monday to Friday, before 4 pm, your kit will be dispatched on the very same day by first class post. You can also choose special delivery on checkout for a signed for and tracked service.

How will I receive my test results?

The confidential results of your Female Hormone Test will be ready within one working day after your sample has arrived at our laboratory. You can access your results online by logging into your secure patient area on our website. Once all of your results are ready, a member of our Patient Services team will contact you.

What should I do with my results?

If your test reveals abnormal levels for any of the above hormones, you should see a doctor about the results. Medication can be prescribed, and further testing may be recommended to ensure the success of treatment.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will you send my kit to me?

If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.

Q: Why do you need my email address?

Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.

Q: Do I need to use my real name?

No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.

Q: What does the kit packaging look like?

It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.

Q: What if I have any more questions?

You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
