Product Description

Better2Know's Full Screen tests for seven STIs including HIV, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea.

Which STIs does the Full Screen test for?

The Better2Know Full Screen tests for:

  • HIV I/II and the p24 antigen
  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Syphilis
  • Hepatitis B
  • Ureaplasma
  • Mycoplasma

Is the Full Screen accurate?

Yes, we use an accredited laboratory. These are the most accurate STD tests available.

You can test for HIV types I and II and the p24 antigen (an early marker of HIV) from the comfort and privacy of your own home. This is a blood test for HIV so it is a very accurate test (99.8% 28 days after any incident you are concerned about, rising to 99.9% after 3 months).

How does the test work?

This test requires blood and urine samples that you collect at home with the kit provided. After you have bought your test online, we will post your discreet pack to your home by first class post. The postal pack is plain so no one will know what it is. When you open the pack you will find a form, three finger-prick lancets, a small gold-topped tube, a urine collection container, wipes and a postage-paid return envelope. We will also send you a detailed sample collection leaflet, which will give you clear step-by-step instructions on how to collect your samples. It is important to follow the instructions on the leaflet carefully. Post the samples back to us in the envelope supplied, and you will get an email as soon as your results are ready. You can also log on securely and check for your results online whenever you like.

How long before I get my test results?

Typically, the results of your tests should be ready within five working days from when your sample arrives at the laboratory.

What happens if I have a positive result?

Do not worry, Better2Know can arrange an appointment with a doctor if you would like us to. You can discuss the results and get a prescription for any medication that you need (there will be a small fee for this), or you can take your results to your own GP.

We will call you if your HIV result is positive and arrange for you to have a second test (which is included in the price). If your second test is positive then we can help you decide where you want to be referred for treatment and help you get any other support you need. This can include talking to an HIV specialist consultant and the Terrence Higgins Trust.

Is testing for STIs through Better2Know confidential?

Yes. Your results and details are 100% confidential and we will not inform anyone, including your GP, without your permission.

How long should I wait after an encounter before getting a Full Screen?

You should wait at least 28 days since any incident you are concerned about before getting this test. If you test before this time, your STD test results may not be as accurate as they can be.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will you send my kit to me?

If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.

Q: Why do you need my email address?

Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.

Q: Do I need to use my real name?

No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.

Q: What does the kit packaging look like?

It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.

Q: What if I have any more questions?

You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
