Is this Hepatitis C test accurate?
Yes, this is an accurate test for Hepatitis C that allows you to test from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
How does Hepatitis C home testing work?
This test requires a blood sample. After you have bought your test online, we will post the discreet STI test pack to your home (the postal pack is plain so no one will know what it is). In the pack you will find everything you need to take your blood sample. The leaflet will give you step-by-step instructions on how to collect your blood sample. It is important that you follow the instructions on the leaflet carefully. You will receive an email when your results are ready, or you can log onto your online Patient Area and check whenever you like.
When will my test arrive?
If you order a test before 4pm Monday to Friday, we'll post it to you first class the same day. Depending upon where you live, your Hepatitis C test kit should arrive the next working day or the day after.
How long before I get my Hepatitis C test result?
The results of your Hepatitis C test should be ready within one working day from when your sample arrives at the laboratory.
What happens if my test is positive and I need treatment?
You can choose for Better2Know to arrange an appointment for you with a doctor so that you can discuss the results and appropriate next steps, or you can take your results to your own GP.
Is testing through Better2Know confidential?
Yes. Your results and details are 100% confidential and we will not inform your GP or anyone else without your permission.
How long should I wait after sex before getting a Hepatitis C test?
You should wait 12 days since your last risky encounter before getting tested.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will you send my kit to me?
If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.
Q: Why do you need my email address?
Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.
Q: Do I need to use my real name?
No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.
Q: What if I do not want to pay by card?
Our payment reference on your card will show up as "health screen" so it will not link your purchase to Better2Know. If you do not want to pay by card then we can also accept PayPal and cash. Please call our Patient Services Team to arrange payment.
Q: What does the kit packaging look like?
It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.
