How does the test work?
With Better2Know’s Home Herpes Swab Test, you can test for both types of the Herpes Simplex Virus from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Upon purchasing your Home Test online, we will post your discreet, plainly packaged kit directly to an address of your choice. Inside you will find one PCR swab, a pathology form, sample collection guide, and a free return envelope. Please ensure you follow the instructions in the sample collection guide carefully. Once you have taken your sample, simply pop it into the prepaid envelope and send it to our fully certified laboratory for fast, accurate analysis.
How accurate is the Herpes Swab Test?
This is a highly accurate, PCR swab test, which will, if present, detect both types of the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV I and HSV II). Your test results will show if you have Herpes Type I, Herpes Type II, neither or both. Your swab sample will be analysed swiftly and efficiently in our accredited laboratory, to give you complete peace of mind.
Is my test confidential?
Testing with Better2Know is totally anonymous and completely confidential. You do not have to provide your real name, and none of your personal details will be shared with any third parties without your consent.
When will my test kit arrive?
If you order your Herpes Home Test before 4pm on a weekday, we will post it to you, first class, on the very same day. Your personal kit should arrive within two working days.
How will I receive my results?
The results of your confidential Herpes Swab Test will be ready within five working days of your sample’s arrival at our central laboratory. You can access them at any time via the secure patient login area of our website. Better2Know will contact you via a method of your preference (telephone, email or SMS) as soon as they are all ready.
What if I test positive?
There are many effective treatments which can reduce both the severity and frequency of any outbreaks of any future herpes symptoms. For a small fee, Better2Know will arrange telephone or face-to-face consultations to discuss the best course of action moving forward. Better2Know can also put you in touch with a Herpes specialist, if necessary, or you may wish to take your results to your own GP.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will you send my kit to me?
If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.
Q: Why do you need my email address?
Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.
Q: Do I need to use my real name?
No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.
Q: What does the kit packaging look like?
It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.
Q: What if I have any more questions?
You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
