Is this Herpes test accurate?
Yes, this is an accurate test that allows you to test for Herpes Simplex Virus types I and II from the comfort and privacy of your own home. This is a blood test which means it is very accurate when you do not have any symptoms. If you are not sure which STI you may have or are concerned about a risky encounter, we recommend the Full Screen which also tests for a range of other STIs including HIV, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea.
How does this Herpes test work?
This is a blood test which you collect from home with the kit provided. After you have bought your test online, we will post your discreet Herpes test pack to your home (the postal pack is plain so no one will know what it is). Open the pack, where you will find a form, three finger prick lancets, a small gold topped tube, wipes and a return envelope. In addition, we will email you a copy of the sample collection instruction leaflet. The leaflet will give you instructions on how to collect your sample. It is important that you follow the instructions on the leaflet carefully. You will get an email when your results are ready, but you can log on and check online whenever you like.
When will my Herpes test arrive?
If you order a Herpes test before 4pm Monday to Friday, we will post it to you first class post same day. Depending upon where you live, your Herpes test should arrive the next working day or the day after.
How long before I get my Herpes test result?
The results of your Herpes test should be ready within two working days from when your sample arrives at the laboratory.
What happens if my Herpes test is positive?
We can help you with any support that you need. There is no cure for herpes, but the symptoms can be managed with medication. We can arrange an appointment with a Doctor so that you can discuss the results and get a prescription for the required medication (there will be a small fee for this), or you can take your results to your own GP.
Is testing? through Better2Know confidential?
Yes. Your results and details are 100% confidential and we will not inform your GP or anyone without your permission.
How long should I wait after an encounter before getting a Herpes test?
You should wait at least 28 days since any incident you are concerned about before getting a Herpes test if you have not had any symptoms. If you test before this time, the Herpes test may not be as accurate as it can be.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will you send my kit to me?
If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.
Q: Why do you need my email address?
Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.
Q: Do I need to use my real name?
No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.
Q: What if I do not want to pay by card?
Our payment reference on your card will show up as "health screen" so it will not link your purchase to Better2Know. If you do not want to pay by card then we can also accept PayPal and cash. Please call our Patient Services Team to arrange payment.
Q: What does the kit packaging look like?
It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.
Q: What if I have any more questions?
You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
