Better2Know Terms & Conditions
This is a comprehensive test that will provide a comprehensive overview of your thyroid health and functioning. It will measure levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroxine (FT4), as well as additional tests for thyroglobulin (TgAb), thyroid peroxidase (TPO), and free thyroxin 3 (FT3).
Abnormal levels could indicate an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). This is caused when the body does not produce enough of the thyroid hormones, resulting in the metabolism slowing down and the emergence of symptoms such as tiredness, feeling cold, and weight gain.
Why consider our Comprehensive Thyroid Test?
Common symptoms of an underactive thyroid include:
- Fatigue
- Weight gain
- Higher sensitivity to the cold
- Hair loss
- Constipation
- Bloating, especially in the face
- Weakness
- Dry skin
- A sore throat
- Mood changes
- Brain fog
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms above or are simply looking for a comprehensive overview of your thyroid health and functioning, you should consider our Comprehensive Thyroid Test.
How does this test work?
This test requires a blood sample to be collected by a nurse. Once your nurse has collected your blood sample, place it in the postage-paid envelope provided and return it to our accredited UK laboratory for analysis.
What tests will be run on my sample?
Our Comprehensive Thyroid Test will assess:
- Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). This controls the production of two thyroid hormones: thyroxine and triiodothyronine.
- Free thyroxine (FT4). An inactive hormone which controls the rate of metabolism.
- Free thyroxin 3 (FT3). An active hormone which controls the rate of metabolism.
- Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb). A high level can indicate a thyroid condition.
- Thyroid peroxidase (TPO). An enzyme which plays an important role in the production of thyroid hormones.
When will my test kit arrive?
If you order your Comprehensive Thyroid Test before 4 pm, between Monday and Friday, your kit will be dispatched on the same day by first class post. If you would like guaranteed delivery, please add special delivery at the checkout.
How will I receive my test results?
The confidential results of your Comprehensive Thyroid Test will be ready within one working day after your sample has arrived at our accredited laboratory. You can access your results online by logging into your secure patient area on our website. As soon as all of your results are ready, you will be contacted by a member of our Patient Services team.
What should I do with my results?
If your test reveals an underactive or overactive thyroid, you should see a doctor about the results. Medication can be prescribed to regulate your thyroid activity and further testing may be advised to ensure the success of treatment. Q: Why do you need my email address?
Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.
Q: Do I need to use my real name?
No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.

It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.
