How does the test work?
Inside your plainly packaged, Zika Home Testing kit, you will find a pathology form, a urine collection container, and a prepaid return envelope. We will also email you with a copy of the sample collection instruction leaflet. Once you have taken your sample, simply place it in the free postage envelope and send it to our laboratory for swift, efficient analysis.
How accurate is the Zika Home Test?
Better2Know’s Zika Home Tests are meticulously analysed in our accredited laboratory, to ensure you get the peace of mind you need. Our highly accurate Zika Test requires a single urine sample, which is tested using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method. All of Better2Know’s STI tests stipulate a minimum period of incubation. This indicates the time between the incident you are concerned about and getting tested. In this instance, the test is most appropriate within 14 days of the onset of symptoms, which can include (but are not exclusive to) rash, eye infections, and muscle pain or joint pain.
Is my test confidential?
Yes, your test results and personal details are 100% confidential. You do not have do give your real name when ordering your Home Test with Better2Know, and we will not inform your GP, or any other third parties, without your consent.
When will my test kit arrive?
If you order your Home Test before 4pm on a weekday, we will send it out to you by first class post on the very same day. Your test kit should arrive the next working day or the following day.
How will I receive my results?
Results will be ready within five working days of your sample’s arrival at the lab, depending on your location. You can access these results at any time via the secure patient login area of our website. Furthermore, once all your results are available, Better2Know will contact you via a method of your preference. This can be by telephone, email or SMS, it’s entirely up to you.
What if I test positive?
Should you test positive for a Zika infection, we will conduct further, confirmatory testing at no additional charge. We can refer you to a specialist service, if necessary, or you may wish to take your results to your own GP.

Q: When will you send my kit to me?
If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.
Q: Why do you need my email address?
Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.
Q: Do I need to use my real name?
No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.
Q: What does the kit packaging look like?
It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.
Q: What if I have any more questions?
You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
