HIV 28 Day Test

The HIV 28 Day can reliably detect HIV infection that happened at least 28 days before testing. If you are worried about a risky exposure that happened within the last month, you should consider the 10 Day HIV test which is available at our Chester clinics. The 28 Day HIV test combines an antibody test with a test for the p24 antigen. This test is called the 'Duo' because it tests for both HIV 1 & 2 antibodies as well as the 'HIV p24 antigen'. We send a small blood sample to our laboratory and the results are usually available same day or the next day. The HIV DUO test including the p24 antigen is considered 99.8% accurate.

HIV 10 Day Test (only available with Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C)

This is the earliest possible HIV test and can detect HIV infection that was contracted at least 10 days before testing. The 10 day HIV test can provide you peace of mind faster than any other test. Whatever your result, we advise that you follow up a 10 Day test with an HIV Duo Test 28 days after any potentially risky exposure. All tests are available at our Chester clinics.
