Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea testing

Better2Know has now added new testing for Chlamydia and gonorrhoea.  Following increasing demand from you for different sites to be tested, you can now be tested for Chlamydia and gonorrhoea in the:

• throat (if you have had unprotected oral sex)
• rectum (if you have had unprotected anal sex)
• vagina/ cervix (women only)

These tests will take a swab of the area and then use a technique called PCR to multiply and organisms found to a high number so that they can be detected even if there are only very small numbers present.

The results of these tests are available just two days from when the sample is received in the laboratory, and is available at many of our clinics across the UK.
