Product Description

Better2Know's Peace of Mind Screen tests for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and Syphilis.

Which STDs and STIs are included?

The Better2Know Peace of Mind Screen tests for:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Syphilis

Is this STD test accurate?

Yes, this blood and urine test is very accurate and will detect Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and Syphilis infections. If you are not sure which STI you may have or you are concerned about a risky encounter, you may wish to opt for the Full STI Screen which tests for a range of sexually transmitted diseases.

How does the test work?

This is a blood and urine test, and you collect the samples yourself using the kit provided. After you have completed your purchase online, we will post the discreet Peace of Mind test pack by first class post to the address provided. The postal pack is plain so no one will know what it is. When you open the pack you will find a form, three finger-prick lancets, a small gold topped tube, a urine collection pot, wipes and a pre-paid return envelope. In addition, we will send you a copy of the sample collection instruction leaflet, which will give you step-by-step instructions on how to collect your samples. It is important that you follow the instructions on the leaflet carefully. As soon as your results are ready, you will get an email to let you know, but you can also log on and check online whenever you like.

When will my test kit arrive?

If you order your test before 4pm Monday to Friday, we will post it out to you by first class post the same day. Test kits should arrive the next working day or the day after.

How long before I get my Peace of Mind test result?

The results of your tests should usually be ready within two working days from when your samples arrive at the laboratory.

What happens if my STD test is positive?

All of the STDs and STIs tested for in the Peace of Mind Screen are curable. If you would like us to, we can make you an appointment with one of our doctors who can write you a prescription for any treatment you need. There will be a small charge for this. Alternatively, you can take the results to your own GP.

Is testing for STDs through Better2Know confidential?

Yes. Your results and your details are 100% confidential and we will not inform your GP or anyone else without your permission.

How long should I wait after an encounter before getting a Peace of Mind test?

You should wait at least 14 days since any incident you are concerned about before getting a Peace of Mind Test. If you test before this time, the test may not be as accurate as it can be.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will you send my kit to me?

If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.

Q: Why do you need my email address?

Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.

Q: Do I need to use my real name?

No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.

Q: What does the kit packaging look like?

It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.

Q: What if I have any more questions?

You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
