Professional Journey

Dr Pierini qualified from Oxford University in 1997, having gained an MA in Physiological Sciences as well as his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery degrees. He worked in hospital medicine for several years to gain his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 2001 and subsequently has worked as a GP in Gloucestershire, gaining his Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2002. As co-author of the Oxford Handbook of Tropical Medicine 1st and 2nd editions, he also has an interest in travel medicine and has worked in the tropics as well as in New Zealand.

His interest in sexual health began several years ago, with his partnership with Better2Know and he now runs a successful private GP service in Cheltenham.

He is married and has two children and loves the outdoors, in particular cycling and skiing. He keeps chickens and bees. Dr Pierini is fully registered with the General Medical Council UK as well as being on the Gloucestershire Providers’ list of General Practitioners and is subject to an annual appraisal.
