What is the Platinum Plus Screen?
The Platinum Plus Screen is Better2Know’s most comprehensive STI screen. It comprises testing for eleven harmful infections, providing results within three working days of your sample’s arrival at our CPA accredited laboratory.
As well as testing for all the STIs that make up the Platinum Profile, the Platinum Plus Screen uses both blood and urine samples to detect Herpes infections. This means that we can accurately detect a Herpes infection in both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients.

Which samples are needed?
The Better2Know Platinum Plus Screen requires blood and urine samples only. The samples will be collected at your appointment by a qualified clinician, before being sent for analysis at our certified, UK laboratory. There are no fasting requirements or uncomfortable swabs associated with this screen.
How do I get my results?
You will receive your test results within three working days of your sample’s arrival at our laboratory. Results are reported to the secure patient log in area of our website, so you can check their progress online. A member of Better2Know’s sexual health advisory team will also contact you when all your results are ready.
What if I test positive?
If your Platinum Plus Screen is reactive for any infection, we can arrange a private consultation with a doctor in the UK. Your Better2Know doctor will discuss your diagnosis and, depending on the infection you have tested positive for, provide a prescription for the medication you require.
If your screen is reactive for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C, we will perform confirmatory testing of your blood sample at no further cost. If necessary, we will refer you to a specialist service.
Alternatively, you can of course take your results to your own GP or personal doctor.
